Position Su mmary:
seeking an EDI Analyst to join their Technology team. This position will be responsible for implementing EDI Transaction data into systems. The primary focus of this position will be processing ocean carriers' commercial data received via EDI. The transactions will include, but are not limited to, ANSI 301, 309 and 322 message sets. The analyst will ensure data receipt and translation is within the desired key performance indicators needed for to maintain their service level to their customers. Individuals with experience in transaction processing and supply chain applications as well as experience with formal software development methodologies will align well with the requirements of this job

This EDI Analyst will identify issues with ocean carriers' commercial and movement data and document the modifications required to eliminate data cleansing, EDI, and systems issues. Following onboarding new trading partners, this position will be responsible for maintaining data, including analysis, query creation, code review, reporting, contact rapport, and creative problem solving. This position will review current and historical data for known and flagged anomalies and validation errors. The EDI Analyst will report to the Supervisor, EDI & Data Patterns and work closely with the Data, EDI, and Finance departments to provide accurate data to providers and consumers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop rules and requirements for implementation of new commercial data
  • Ensure that commercial data is being received daily with any problem anomalies reported back to Trading Partners
  • Troubleshoot ocean carrier reported issues on improper assignment of commercial data
  • Identify and implement controls needed to ensure commercial data is being assigned properly and perform daily validations confirming that the data is ready for billing
  • Perform daily and weekly analysis on commercial data
  • Troubleshoot the root cause of issues and identify needed system enhancements in EDI receipt, data translation, and systematic derivation processes
  • Establish relationships, maintain good rapport with ocean carriers and maintain contact lists
  • Develop and maintain documentation on processes to be used for training
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of data issues to establish quality, completeness, and timeliness standards
  • Work with Supervisor to maintain, revise, and improve commercial data and data cleansing process
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly data certification and validation for billing
  • Provide status report of all open issues weekly to supervisor
  • Investigate and report EDI Data receipt and processing issues to data supervisor
Requireme nts:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
  • Relevant work experience in data analysis and data correction
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Prior experience working with EDI data receipt and translation, preferably in supply chain
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)
  • Experience with System Query Language (SQL), Microsoft Access or other data extraction tools, preferred
  • Proficient at desktop computing and capable of leveraging corporate applications and business processes
  • Analytical mindset for problem-solving and identifying patterns and trends
  • The ability to use lateral thinking, prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks with a capacity to meet deadlines
Critical thinking skills, attentional to detail and must be a self- starter
