The Sr. Financial Analyst reports to the Manager Financial Planning & Analysis, and interacts with financial management, operations, corporate accounting and various levels of corporate and executive management. Supports the overall corporate forecast and budgeting process; helps organize and oversee the collection of budget data; maintains budget system and database; responsible for ongoing forecast/budgeting of Cost of Goods Sold. This position has responsibility for financial analysis, review of actual financial data and special projects under the direction of the Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of a weekly and monthly business review deck that reports key operating metrics and performance indicators.
  • Maintains and distributes Cost of Food and Paper analysis to help understand how the cost of commodities, paper and distribution costs are performing year over year and versus budget.
  • Responsible for the overall Cost of Food and Paper annual budgeting process by restaurant. This includes working with the company's outside co-op RSI on attaining future projections for commodities and case costs as well as partnering with Operations on setting food performance goals.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Finance on producing a monthly overall Cost of Food and Paper forecast at the total company level by obtaining monthly updates from RSI on commodity projections.
  • Produce a monthly delivery analysis by third party provider that breaks down sales and profitability performance.
  • Responsible for measuring the impact of pricing actions taken by the company and providing to the FLOW (productive labor) team so adjustments can be made to the company labor model.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting package by preparing bridge (waterfall) analyzes measuring overall year over year P&L performance and provide analytical comments on variances.
  • Perform other ad hoc research and analysis which could include, but not limited to, local value promotion performance and its impact on performance.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant experience with financial analysis and/or financial planning.
  • Must be knowledgeable and confident with financial modeling.
  • Ability to appropriately deal with highly confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Self-starter, who has strong problem-solving abilities and proven analytical skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact and communicate effectively across departments within all levels of the organization.
  • High degree of proficiency with PC applications including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Relevant experience with financial software, reporting or financial planning applications desirable.
