Seeking a Lead Consultant of Emerging Technologies with a track record of managing client engagement in the energy markets. As a Lead Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include identifying and cultivating business opportunities, managing complex projects with a remote team, and positioning our company as a leader in the industry.
Responsibilities:
The role is 55% project management and delivery, 25% mentoring analysts' team, 10% establishing market expertise and 10% business development.
  1. Project Management
    1. Lead the delivery of customer work through modeling, developing presentations, writing, and preparing reports, and owning customer requests.
    2. Track and manage actual performance of project teams against the established plan, with ongoing communication to project team members.
  2. Establish Market Expertise to Interface with Clients
    1. Establish our company as a thought leader in the industry by engaging with key decision-makers, presenting at industry events and conferences, and showcasing our expertise.
    2. Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations. Translate technical concepts to a broader audience.
    3. Utilize and contribute to suite of dispatch and financial models for valuing energy projects, advising on enhancements in line with evolving market rules and regulations.
  3. Business Development
    1. Develop business opportunities with both new and existing clients, engaging with inquiries and providing market insights.
    2. Lead and coordinate the preparation and responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring comprehensive and timely submissions.
    3. Monitor and track submitted proposals, providing regular updates and strategic feedback to management.
    4. Conduct thorough market research, collaborating with the marketing department to refine and enhance marketing materials and strategies.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of power industry experience.
  • Proven track record in project management and client management.
  • In-depth understanding of energy, ancillary services, and capacity frameworks within the US ISO/RTO markets.
  • In-depth understanding of price forecasting methods, project merchant revenues, and our role as independent market consultant.
  • In-depth understanding of state and utility programs for renewable energy technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills. Understanding of energy modeling system and methods.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both US and remote teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of distribution energy resources (DERs) pairing with renewables.
  • In-depth understanding in energy storage dispatch modeling.
  • Knowledge of Vehicle-to-Anything (V2X) applications.
  • Knowledge of green hydrogen market and applications.
  • Familiarity with RTO/ISO transmission planning and generation interconnection processes.
Location:
  • This is a remote position within US, with a strong preference in the Northeast.
Travel:
  • Periodic travel to attend regulatory meetings, conferences, company quarterly meetings at our headquarters in Philadelphia.
