Electronic Data Interchange is the transferring of electronic data from one computer system to another without human intervention. These computer systems are often unique to specific retailers, healthcare entities, logistics companies, banks, etc. When EDI is exchanged between two companies, each company is referred to as a Trading Partner of the other.
