We are currently recruiting for a Project & Application Support Lead that will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating Waterfall, and Agile project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to users. This remote leader will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The Project Leader will support and manage Application projects consisting of multiple teams. They will need good judgment and skill to develop a project management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort to achieve the project and application goals within the designated project constraints. You will bring experience in blending traditional project management principles and leadership practices with a Waterfall & Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, business-critical projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Application Management Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issue; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Team Management & Motivator Manage multiple project teams (5 to 10 resources) and assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks; leveraging resources to improve capacity.
  • Facilitating scrum ceremonies promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team!
  • Work with project teams to ensure operation handover from development teams is completed to standards and understood by all members of the Application Support team including managing incidents, problems reported and service requests through JIRA.


Skills and Qualifications
  • 5-7 years' experience as a Project Manager.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Experience with Jira Cloud, systems administration and a proven track record of successfully implementing software projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in the energy industry (utilities or retail supply), Scrum certification (CSM) and Project Management certification (Prince, PMP etc.) are all a plus but not required
  • Excellent communication skills Communicates openly and effectively through formal and informal channels with colleagues and managers. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
