The IT Director plays an active role in providing company-wide visibility by providing pertinent information to ensure alignment, enhance continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, this role ensures that all IT/IS systems are safe, secure, properly monitored, running efficiently and are well maintained.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and execute an IT roadmap for the company.
  • Coordinate with CFO on software and hardware enhancements
  • Manage and prioritize IT support tickets
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
  • Control and monitor operational expenditures.
  • Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Direct daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, assessing requests, establishing priorities, developing standards, ensuring alignment with company goals, and setting deadlines to ensure timely feedback and solutions to end user and departmental requests.
  • Review the work of systems support personnel, software and hardware consultants, and communications service providers and technicians to ensure service level standards are met and provided solutions and support are effective.
  • Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology to ensure continuous improvement and best practices that result in more efficient business processes.
  • Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
  • Review and approve all systems, programs, charts and mapping prior to their implementation.
  • Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
  • Prepare and review operational reports or project progress reports.
  • Manage backup, security, and user help systems.
  • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for purchases of necessary equipment.
  • Determine staffing requirements.
  • Interview potential candidates or participate in staffing decisions.
  • Train, develop, coach, and counsel support staff.
  • Coordinate manage and monitor asset management, license renewals, service contracts, and warranties for parts and services.
  • Identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of MIS/IT support staff.
  • Responsible for 24 hr. emergency service as needed.
  • Maintain and update operating/training manuals for the MIS/IT Department.
 
 
EXPERIENCE
 
 
 
  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • Recent experience in IT management and administration
  • Experience in implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
  • Technical skills including Windows, Office, Exchange, SQL Server, MRP, ERP, WMS, CRM and Timekeeping systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
