Job Description seeking a talented and driven Sales Director to sell and help grow our EDI, Billing, Scheduling, Settlement, Forecasting and Pricing business by providing direct sales acumen to retail market participants across all deregulated electricity and gas market in the United States. This role will be a part of a growing team and will report to the VP Sales & Marketing and will support and work closely with other sales directors and team leaders from Retail Services team, as well as leaders from other teams and business lines. It is a great opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual looking to help develop and grow an operational and software-platform based service business in the deregulated electricity and natural gas space. Responsibilities: Achieve revenue and margin targets by driving sales of existing and new services to current and new customers. Manage 3-stage sales process (prospecting, qualification, negotiation) efficiently to support deal execution and fully document interactions using Salesforce.com. Become fully knowledgeable about retail service offering as well as complete range of services. Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the deregulated electricity and gas markets in order to identify sales prospects and understand business drivers. Serve as the advocate of the customer and provide input and feedback to operations and development teams. Ensure high levels of post-sales customer satisfaction and retention. Provide input, support and promote marketing initiatives including events, product launches, e-mail marketing and partner marketing activities. Attend industry events to represent and enhance or initiate customer relationships Develop and manage relationships with new and existing customers Coordinate and communicate with VP Sales & Marketing, Business line lead, Product Manager and retail operation associates to examine competition, sales opportunities and marketing efforts to increase overall sales. Deliver sales presentations and software demonstrations Additionally, the position calls for up-selling to existing customers. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of direct B-to-B experience selling high-value software platform-based services in the retail energy market or a closely related industry. Thorough knowledge of sales planning, sales presentations, strategic and tactical selling skills and contract negotiations. Experience in presenting to senior managers at prospect companies is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience and / or knowledge of the deregulated retail electric markets in the US. Knowledge of retail electricity and natural gas providers, and/or energy utilities companies as well as competitive software and services companies. Bachelor's degree in technical field and sales certifications is a plus. Consistent record of success in exceeding sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and integrity. Proficiency in software applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Salesforce (or comparable CRM application). Ability to travel 25-30% - primarily within the mid-Atlantic and northeast US.
