EDI Integration Technical Specialist

Our client is currently recruiting an EDI Integration Technical Support Specialist. The EDI Integration Specialist's main function is to analyze, design, develop, implement and support EDI-related components for the VLS IT organization. They are responsible for analyzing business problems and developing specifications for enhancements and extensions to EDI services, including application interfaces, mappings and business processes. They perform EDI testing, implementation, and upgrades. Additionally, the EDI specialist serves as the primary link between the business, customers, and trading partners; they work with trading partners, customers, and business users to determine requirements and develop guidelines and specifications for data exchange.

The EDI specialist's day-to-day responsibilities include establishing contact with trading partners, application system support staff, and support of the company EDI platform (Sterling Business Integrator).

The EDI specialist position require a bachelor's degree or experience in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years of industry experience working with EDI technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
Analysis, design, and testing of EDI System components
Coordinate, support and lead technical services in company EDI implementation projects
Maintenance and support of the EDI System
Test, implement and maintain EDI messages and transactions
Analyze, design and develop specifications for enhancements and extensions to EDI application interfaces and maps
Troubleshoots EDI messages or transaction errors
Communicate with management and/or team members on the status of projects and activities, including completion of Project Status and Incident report updates in the TeamHeadQuarters (THQ) system
Assist in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals and guidelines.

Minimum Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor degree in computer systems or information systems management related majors

At least 5 years hands on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator:
Development tools, maps, interfaces, BPs, MailBox, Archival
Troubleshoot performance issue, Restart/Recovery, Communication Protocols, UNIX
Familiarity with clustered node for fail-over and load-balancing support over Linux and VMware environments 5 + years working experience with EDI projects. Logistics industry experience a plus. 

Understanding and familiarity with the shipping industry standard EDI transactions is preferred, Experience with Overseas related processes

Microsoft Windows (MS Office Other: IBM Sterling platform, integration experience with various formats e.g. XML, EDIFACT, ANSI X12, CSV

Fluency in written and verbal English, Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills, Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to read and understand complex documents and procedures.

Ability to constantly operate a computer/keyboard and other office machinery such as a printer, copier, calculator. Ability to travel 10% of the time
