Position Specifications:
  • Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service
  • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
  • Maintain all system backup and restore procedures and oversee the backup, replication, clustering and fail over strategies
  • Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
  • Maintain system security by actively identifying faults and vulnerable areas within the system's architecture, and implementing solutions following industry best practices.
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
  • Participate in risk assessments, develop and recommend solutions to manage and mitigate the identified continuity risks.
  • Develop and participate in Security awareness education and training.
  • Security planning and on-site support of special events that require coordination with other departments, specialized security services, and executive escort.
  • Experience implementing network security at the firewall/server level, and at the network switch level.
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
  • Maintain proper documentation of all the procedures, configurations, programs, etc.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 5 year.
  • IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
  • Experience with Oracle DB and/or MySQL is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HyperV and VMWare management and concepts are a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP desired.
  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, Security Compliance implementation, and Security awareness education and training a big plus.
