Description

Plans, conducts, or coordinates Process Engineering functions covering all aspects of material handling and unit process operations as applied in the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats, and cat/dog litter. Technical expertise to include all aspects of food processing technology, in terms of production systems, quality/sanitation, and equipment design and application. application.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide Process Engineering design and review for capital projects including detailed phases of the process engineering work, related documentation, and field support. Requires coordination of work by outside consultants and suppliers, broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, and an understanding of principles and practices in related specialties. Requires strong communications skills and ability to perform well on teams.

Provide process engineering technical assistance to operating facilities. Includes planning/implementing investigation and analysis in problem areas or areas of opportunity for process improvement. Requires ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.

Provide Process Engineering support to Divisional process improvement efforts including systems analysis, scope development, and evaluation of alternate technologies and methods. Keeps abreast of new methods and developments affecting the Division for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis in programs, or new programs warranted by such developments.

Provide project engineering for developmental projects and for capital projects on special assignment.

Assist in the development/modification of department technical guidelines, standards, and specifications in the area of specialty.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial

Experience (Years/Type): 5+ years of Process Engineering experience in food, pharmaceutical or chemical industry
Skills: P&ID development, equipment sizing, bulk material handling, liquids handling, and mass & energy balances.
