Our client a Boston area technology leader is currently seeking an IT System-Network Administrator.
The selected candidate for the role will be a strategic member of the Information Technology Team. The role is a blend of technical and customer relationship skills to successfully support our clients global operations.
The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for building and maintaining the computers and networks infrastructure, systems and application software and will also provide second & third level support across the organization, including but not limited to remote support of end-users with use of remote troubleshooting tools, and the maintenance of a help desk ticket system to provide consistent ticket remediation using standard guidelines.
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures
Maintain and support IT systems including laptops (PC & MAC) within a global, distributed team and systems environment.
Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
Set up accounts and workstations
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure through access controls, antivirus, firewalls & monitoring tools
Manage the IT ecosystem in the Americas, including direct management of Help Desk technicians.
Act in alignment with IT supervisor to contribute to organizational policy
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
Audit systems and assess their outcomes
Support and maintain end-user requirements daily, including troubleshooting, account maintenance (Provision/Deprovision user accounts) and training
Inventory and provide an accounting for all resources including software, server, workstation and laptop systems (PC and Mac)
Participate in hardware and software purchasing processes
Responsible for effectiveness via automation management tasks, streamline processes and perform proactive administration functions as needed.

Technical prerequisites Skills:
  • 4+ years Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Windows 8-10, Windows server 2008-2016, Mac OS, IOS, Android)
  • Experience with databases Oracle, MSSQL.
  • Knowledge at AWS Cloud solutions platforms
  • Network configuration skills (LAN, WAN) CISCO, Client & IP telephony
  • Knowledge and experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365.
  • Virtualization platforms: HyperV, VMWare.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Storage Systems (Netapp), SAN and NAS configuration using different storage protocols SMB, iSCSI and FCP.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. antivirus, firewalls, intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Ability to create scripts in PowerShell, Python, Perl or another scripting language
  • Manage collaboration platforms (Skype for Business, Webex) & troubleshoot Video Conference issues of meetings and systems
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems on various platforms (PC, MAC, Windows, Linux).
  • Provide MDM tier 1 support including remote connection, the security of software, data security, Mobile, VPN, SSO
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved
  • Configure and Manage in-house and AWS based Microsoft and Infrastructure Tools
  • Inventory management- including computers, telephones (VOIP), screens, keyboards, other peripheral equipment.

  • Outstanding customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.
