Looking for an EDI resource as staff augmentation to Backfill on development work, while team is engaged in a major Transformation project. They are migrating from Gentran server for Unix 6.1 to SAP PO. There may be some use of the resource for testing for the Transformation project.
This person must understand EDI well and have experience with the Gentran mapper. Unix experience is preferred. They must also have an understanding of SAP. SAP PO is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Completion of EDI Work Associated with Specific Business Initiatives. This includes:
  • Requirements definition (e.g., developing mapping specifications, defining EDI resource requirements, cost estimates related to VAN and translator throughput, etc.)
  • Mapping new transactions
  • Multiple changes to existing maps, trading partner profiles, scripts, etc.
  • Examples of business projects: Pepperidge Farm SAP Implementation, California Beverage Tax, Transportation Dispatch Outsourcing, One Source, etc.
  • Completion of EDI Infrastructure Projects. This includes:
  • VAN (Value Added Network) evaluation/replacement
  • Communications upgrades
  • Disaster recovery tests
  • Capacity planning

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


1-2 years working with Sterling Gentran for UNIX; must understand the Gentran mapper, Unix would be preferred.

Must understand SAP, knowledge of SAP PO would be a plus.

3-5 years experience working on an EDI technical team;

Requires a solid knowledge of E-Commerce principles and standards including, but not limited to, the following concepts:
