Corporate Social Responsibility

corporate-responsibilityAt EDI Staffing, our main goal is to connect talented people with great organizations across all industries. As we’ve done this, we’ve made social responsibility an essential part of our purpose as a company; we understand the significance of giving back to the communities in which we operate.

We keep social responsibility an integral part of our business by supporting a number of organizations each year via fundraising, volunteering and spreading awareness. Through these initiatives, we will continue to give back to communities that share our mutual social responsibility goals, both locally and nationally.

Each year, every member of the EDI Staffing team is encouraged to take one additional day off if they volunteer for at least four hours for a charity of their choosing. A few of our employees shared their stories:

March of Dimes“Since my daughter has been born, my family has participated in the annual March for Babies Walk for March of Dimes. We join teams along the Cape Cod Canal with donations given to support programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and it funds research to find answers to pre-term birth and birth defects. Our team is dedicated to our children as we had healthy pregnancies and healthy babies and wanted to give back to others who have not been so fortunate.” – Gretchen Ponte

Meals on WheelsI’ve been volunteering for a division of “Meals on Wheels and More” here in Austin since 2006.  I deliver groceries monthly for the H.O.P.E. Program, which is the Healthy Options for the Elderly.  I’ve had the same route now for many years and the clients have become like family that we visit some on our own time during the holidays and bring them some additional food at our own expense.

With our grocery deliveries, we also bring dog food to their pets.  It came to our attention a couple of years ago that these clients had such close relationships with their dogs they were actually sharing their Meals on Wheels food with their pets out of love.  So we had to add a new program to feed the pets as well that are in some cases keeping these elderly people alive and happy.  I can’t say enough about the Meals on Wheels Program here. I did a lot of research before picking a charity and I’m extremely happy with the choice I made seven years ago.” – Dean Anderson

Relay for Life – “My son, daughter, and I have participated in Relay for the past 10 years.  We first got involved through their elementary school, Bennett Elementary in Taunton.  The woman who invited us to join and who became a close friend, Rosemary, has since passed away after a brave fight against cancer.  As teachers moved and retired, the Bennett team disbanded, and we joined our current team, Lima’s Kickers For a Cure, which we have been a part of for 4 years.  We do numerous events each year to raise money, including a car wash, bake sale, book sale, candy bar sales, ice cream social at EDI Staffing, and other events.  In addition, we attend the local relay event and raise money on-site through chair massage, candy sales, and a pancake breakfast.

We continue to Relay in honor of Rosemary and too many other close friends who have passed as well as in honor of several close family members who are bravely continuing their fight again cancer.” – Lori Noel
