Qualifications:
Summary of Position:
Located in Bridgewater, NJ, this lab-based position is laser focused on meeting the high demands of our Tapes and Labels customers by performing laboratory work as directed by the technical and business teams. As a key member of the Application Engineering team, the individual will participate in projects aimed at addressing both internal and customer needs. Work may include benchmarking the capabilities of new product technologies, developing new test procedures, optimizing product and raw material selection, and investigating opportunities to improve product quality. The objective is to do accurate, high quality laboratory work in a timely manner to keep our internal stakeholders and external customers satisfied.

Minimum Job Requirements:
• Temporary position, full-time hours on-site in Bridgewater, NJ
• 2 or 4 year science or engineering degree preferred, or applicable work related experience
• Experience with adhesives, coatings, or related materials is a plus
• Experience in a laboratory environment is a plus
• Ability to multi-task and deliver accurate results in short timeframes
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with attention to details
• Ability to show initiative and to work independently as well as in teams
• Proficient in the use of computer software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, including the use of graphing and tabulation functions
• Travel 0-5%
Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
• Plans and conducts concurrent technical assignments and laboratory work for our Tapes and Labels business and customers.
• Performs standard adhesive physical and performance lab tests as well as testing on customer/supplier materials, substrates, etc.
• Coordinates necessary testing with other functions (i.e., Product Development) and on-site Analytical Sciences Group.
• Prepares laboratory reports which present findings and conclusions, uploads them to the required database(s) and communicates results to stakeholders.
• Prioritizes projects/experiments based on awareness of customer needs.
• Recommends priorities and next steps for projects and experiments based on understanding of internal business or customer needs.
• Maintains ownership of laboratory space and equipment, including inventory, ordering of lab supplies, and calibration of equipment
• Responsible for meeting all Safety Requirements including SOP reviews, training, SDS, sample labeling, housekeeping, etc.
