This role provides support for the Finance and Taxation department. This position reports to our Finance & Administration Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Supports Tax Advisors with all state and federal tax matters, including filing returns, estimates, researching and resolving disputes and contentions with various governments.
· Maintains and tracks Tax calendar.
· Self Asses Use Tax, when applicable; on purchases of various Marketing materials that are shipped outside of N.J. Support Purchasing Department Sales and Use Tax questions. Prepare and enter related Journal Entries into Financial System.
· Compile annual State Income Tax Apportionments to be used in the State Tax Return Process and track Nexus requirements by state.
· File and Pay Annual Reports and Business Licenses for Corporation and Subsidiaries by State and Locality.
· General Ledger analysis for various tax related accounts.
· Prepare and file the annual 1099 IRS forms.
· Assist with Payroll Functions in ADP Workforce Now as needed.
· Performs other duties and functions as assigned by Management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and up to four years related experience; or advanced degree and up to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Prior experience with Corporate Tax Strongly Preferred
· Experience with Avalara Tax Software and State Tax Audits Preferred
· Experience using ADP Workforce Now for Payroll/Tax Functions Preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
